The Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice has recommended that the legislature amend state law to require that it be informed of penalties meted out for workers’ comp violations by employers. Under current law, the state Workers’ Compensation Commission is required to notify the state treasurer and the attorney general after imposing penalties for workers’ comp violations, as well as disclose the amount of the penalty, the date it was imposed and whether or not an appeal was filed.
