The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board revoked, temporarily suspended or accepted the voluntary resignations of 49 physicians in 2017 — a 36.1% increase over the prior year. Voluntary resignations typically occur after a doctor has been disciplined by the state Department of Health’s Board for Professional Medical Conduct.
