Injury and Illness Rate Drops in 2014

The total number of nonfatal occupational injuries and illnesses dropped 1.6% to 460,700 in 2014, compared to 468,400 in 2013, according to data the California Department of Industrial Relations published Friday. Information from the department's Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses, or SOII, shows the number of "lost-worktime" cases was essentially unchanged from year to year.
