Doc Sentenced to Jail for False Claim Conviction

A Palm Springs doctor convicted of using fake identities to obtain 30,000 prescription painkillers and filing a false workers' compensation claim was sentenced Thursday to one year in jail and five years probation, according to press reports.Dr. Lisa Michelle Barden, 41, pleaded guilty Dec. 15 in Palm Springs Superior Court to 274 felony charges, including burglary, theft and possession of controlled substances related to the prescription drugs, the ABC affiliate in Palm Springs reported.
