The owner of two Kansas City-area hotels who hired undocumented workers and paid them under the table to avoid payroll taxes and workers' compensation premiums was sentenced to 27 months in federal prison for his crimes, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas announced.
Munir Ahmad Chaudary, 53, admitted to hiring undocumented workers at Clarion Hotels in Overland Park, Kansas, and Kansas City, Missouri, and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to harbor undocumented aliens for financial gain, prosecutors said. He was sentenced on Monday.
