The owners of a private security firm in California are accused of concealing $1.6 million in payroll as part of a scheme to reduce their workers’ compensation premiums, according to a report by the Fresno Bee.
Luis Burgos, the 50-year-old owner of B&R Private Security, and his former business partner, Sohan Singh, 57, allegedly reported about $192,400 in payroll to their comp carrier during a three-year period.
A forensic audit allegedly found B&R had more than $1.8 million in payroll over the same period.
