Claimant Gets Year in Jail, Probation for Misrepresenting Injury

An injured worker who pleaded no contest to one count of fraud for intentionally misrepresenting the extent of his injuries was ordered to serve one year in county jail. A joint statement by the district attorneys' offices of Yolo and Colusa counties said Daniel Ayala, 32, was sentenced to 365 days in jail and ordered to serve five years of felony probation last month. Ayala was also ordered to pay an $890 fine in addition to court-ordered restitution in the amount of $19,324.68.
