Premiums and Combined Ratios Have Fallen Steadily

The combined ratio for Tennessee workers' comp insurers has declined steadily since reaching a peak of 121.4 in 2001, to 93.1 last year, according to a report that the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Industry posted online this week. The Overview of Tennessee's Workers' Compensation Market Conditions and Environment shows that total premiums earned in the state's market ticked up slightly in 2015 to $788 million from $787 million in 2014.
