In the wake of mass shooting incidents across the United States, the Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents has banned all weapons and firearms at its offices.
Only law enforcement officers will be allowed to carry weapons, except when they are a party to a workers' compensation or other matter before the department, the agency announced this week.
The department will not store firearms under any circumstances, officials said. The agency has offices in Boston, Lawrence, Fall River, Springfield and Worcester.
