Prosecutors: Contractor Called Roofers 'Carpenters' to Save $71,000

Massachusetts prosecutors have accused a contractor of calling its employees carpenters to avoid the $71,000 in additional workers' compensation premium it would have paid if it called employees roofers. A grand jury indicted Cynthia and Paul Caron for alleged workers' compensation fraud on Monday, the state attorney general's office announced. Prosecutors describe Caron Contracting as "almost exclusively a roofing company."
