D.A.'s Office Arrests Prison Employee for Fraud

The Amador County District Attorney's Office arrested a  Mule Creek State Prison employee for workers' compensation fraud after he allegedly forged a medical document to extend his time off work, according to a northern California newspaper. The Ledger Dispatch reported that the district attorney's office made the arrest following a seven-month investigation of Joseph Robert Maita. Maita, 49, worked at the prison in Ione, Calif., and filed a workers' compensation claim for a knee injury in March. He subsequently received workers' compensation benefits and treatment. Se...
