Lawmakers in Alaska still in session a week after they were scheduled to adjourn used the extra time to pass a bill that would delay the implementation of a Resource-Based Relative Value Scale fee schedule by five months.
The Senate on Sunday voted 20-0 to pass House Bill 178, by Rep. Kurt Olson, R-Kenai. The bill would extend the deadline for the Medical Services Review Committee, an advisory panel to the Division of Workers' Compensation, to establish conversion factors for the new fee schedule.
