Contractors' Board Promises Crackdown on Comp Scofflaws

The California Contractors' State Licensing Board on Thursday issued a bulletin reminding contractors that they are required to carry workers' compensation insurance, and promising future enforcement actions if they don't.“We understand why businesses try to cut expenses, but cheating on workers’ compensation insurance is illegal,” said CSLB Registrar Steve Sands in a press release.  “Employees are left unprotected if they get hurt, and contractors who break the law have an unfair business advantage over those who follow the rules.
