CMS to Launch Online Calculation Tool for Drug Costs for Medicare Set-Asides

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will begin offering online calculation and direct input of prescription drug costs for Medicare set-aside reviews on Oct. 6. As of that date, users of the Workers' Compensation Medicare Set-Aside Portal will be able to select drugs through a lookup tool and calculate their cost considering frequency of use and life expectancy of the patient, the centers announced in a Tuesday press release.
