Moving From Commerce to Insurance, Industrial Commission Rules Get Recodified

Starting June 1, any reference to the North Carolina Industrial Commission's rules should cite Title 11, Chapter 23 of the state's Administrative Code, the commission said in a bulletin this week.

The commission, which handles workers' compensation for the state, was transferred from the state Department of Commerce to the Department of Insurance, which required rules to be recodified under Chapter 11. The change was required by 2017 legislation.
