The Workers’ Compensation Board has removed 85 providers and added 62 on the list of those authorized to treat injured workers and to perform independent medical examinations (IMEs).
The Workers’ Compensation Law requires providers to be licensed and registered with the state Education Department to maintain board authorizations.
The Education Department said the 85 providers currently do not have active licenses to practice medicine in New York, according to the Workers’ Compensation Board’s Subject No. 046-1026.
