Gov. Tim Pawlenty has appointed Minnesota Court of Appeals Judge Matthew E. Johnson as chief judge of the Court of Appeals.Johnson succeeds Chief Judge Edward Toussaint. He was appointed to a three-year term that commences Nov. 1 and expires Oct. 31, 2013.Johnson has served as a Court of Appeals judge since Jan. 1, 2008.Johnson earned his law degree from the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn. in 1992 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn. in 1985.Johnson, 47, was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and lives in St. Paul with his wife, Elizabeth...
