The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Rust-Oleum Corp., doing business as Synta Inc., for 33 serious safety and health violations with proposed penalties totaling $188,500, OSHA announced.
The company was cited for exposing both full-time and temporary workers to crystalline silica dust, amputation and electrical hazards. OSHA began investigating Synta’s Clarkston, Georgia, facility in February after a complaint alleging improper storage of material and inadequate forklift training.
