Highway Patrol Office Arrested for Comp Fraud

Friday, June 26, 2020 | 0

A California Highway Patrol officer with 25 years of experience was arrested on suspicion of workers’ compensation fraud, according to a Patch.com report.

Kathleen Beardsley, 46, was allegedly observed engaged in activities that were not consistent “with the limitations outlined in her claim,” according to the report.

Beardsley was arrested Wednesday at the Banning Police Department. Bail was set at $10,500 and a court date has not been set.

MyNewsLA.com reports Beardsley was released Thursday after posting bond.

The Highway Patrol said the arrest caps a seven-month long investigation that started in October based on a tip that Beardsley was engaged in outdoor activities that reportedly indicated she lied on her work comp claim.

According to MyNewsLA, Beardsley filed a claim for “unspecific injuries.” The Electronic Adjudication Management System shows she claimed injuries to her eye, neck, back, upper extremities and head.
