States such as Florida that are considering what to do about a continued rise in workers' compensation medical costs may want to take a look at Minnesota, a new report from the Workers Compensation Research Institute suggests.
The report released Thursday notes that fee schedules and a switch from a charge-based system for hospital services have had a significant impact on the cost of services in Minnesota. While physicians are paid more than their counterparts in most other study states, overall expenditures for professional services are lower.
