OSHA Cites Houston Co. $57,750 after Finding Repeated Amputation Hazards

A company in Houston is facing $57,750 in Occupational Safety and Health Administration fines after an inspection revealed repeat violations. OSHA cited Dimensional Machine Works for 13 safety violations, seven of which were repeats, according to a Monday press release. The repeat citations were for exposing workers to amputation hazards. Specifically, OSHA alleged that Dimensional failed to provide guards on the machines and didn't implement lockout/tagout procedures meant to protect workers from becoming entangled in the parts upon unexpected startup.
