Division Releases New Tables and Guidelines on EDI 3.1

The Iowa Division of Workers' Compensation has released information on what will be required under new electronic data reporting standards, the agency announced.

The requirement tables and implementation guidelines for electronic data interchange (EDI) claims standard 3.1 are available for download at the agency website. 

Iowa and six other states are making the switch this year to standard 3.1, an upgrade to that developed by the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions.

The new reporting requirements, which become mandatory Dec. 3, provide 35 new data points and should be easier to use, officials said.

Trading partners must register their profiles online by May 11.
