House Budget Drops Funding for Workers' Compensation Judge

A state budget approved last week by the state House does not include funding for a Workers’ Compensation Court judge and two magistrate positions. The three position cuts, which total about $700,000, including benefits, are expected to be approved by the state Senate, according to reports in The Providence Journal. The Workers’ Compensation Court seat is a lifetime appointment with a salary of $143,608 a year.
