A Georgia woman has been sentenced to probation for submitting false requests for compensation to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs.
Paula Padgett, 49, of Brunswick, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Georgia announced the sentencing on Friday.
According to prosecutors, Padgett submitted fraudulent claims to the OWCP for the reimbursement of nonexistent travel expenses for medical treatment.
