Highway Worker Suspected of Double-Dipping, Lying About Injury

Prosecutors say a state highway maintenance worker lied about his injury and collected $7,875 in benefits while working for other employers. Roger M. Decker Jr. of Lee Center was arrested on Friday on suspicion of falsifying business records, offering a false instrument for filing, insurance fraud, perjury and grand larceny, the New York Inspector General’s Office said.  The office said Decker, 48, repeatedly submitted false forms to the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board and his physician in 2016 and 2017, saying the he had not worked for more than a decade.
