Industrial Commission Considering Change to Impairment Rating Rules

The Idaho Industrial Commission is seeking input from workers’ compensation system uses on proposed changes to rules requiring the averaging of multiple impairment ratings for the same injury. The commission has put forth two proposals it is asking system users to consider. The first proposal would say “when two or more impairment ratings for the same injury have been given by different providers, payment to claimant may be based on the average of such ratings.” If the ratings are not averaged, the claimant must be notified and advised of the right to challenge the employer...
