A paper-products manufacturer in Natchez, Mississippi, has been cited for allegedly exposing workers to dangers including electrical hazards and accumulations of combustible paper dust.
Von Drehle Corp. was cited Feb. 15 by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration and faces $303,657 in proposed penalties. The company has 15 business days to contest the citations.
OSHA said its inspectors found combustible paper dust accumulated on the floor behind a gas heater, creating a fire hazard. Filters on the heater were clogged with dust, OSHA said.
