Florida would move to a Medicare-based fee schedule and make other workers’ compensation reforms in response to a pair of state Supreme Court decisions, under a bill introduced Tuesday.
House Bill 7085, sponsored by Rep. Danny Burgess, R-Zephyrhills and chairman of the House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, would increase the duration of total temporary wage-replacement benefits from 104 weeks to 260 weeks, in accordance with the high court’s decision in Bradley Westphal v. City of St. Petersburg.
