The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board unanimously approved rules that would require employers to develop written plans for protecting workers from COVID-19, according to a report by the Sacramento Bee.
The vote came after a long meeting Thursday, during which advocates for workers urged the board to adopt the rules, while employer representatives said they felt the rules were being rushed and asked for more time. The Office of Administrative Law must now review and approve the regulations before they can take effect.
