Woman Pleads Guilty to Workers' Compensation Payroll Scheme

An Orlando woman is facing a maximum prison sentence of up to 980 years after pleading guilty last week to 49 counts of wire fraud and one count of operating as an unlicensed money transmitter in a workers’ compensation fraud scheme. Orquidea Quezada, 48, admitted running a payroll service in Winter Park, where she paid undocumented aliens cash under the table, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
