Jeffrey Snyder, city manager for the past five years, was named to the Board of Trustees, Place 3, for the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool. He will fill an unexpired term that runs through 2020.

The risk pool is the chief provider of workers' compensation, liability and property coverage for local governments in Texas, the city's announcement said. It also is the oldest and largest pool of its kind in the country, serving more than 2,800 local governments.

"It is important for city staff to serve on state and regional boards," said Plainview Mayor Wendell Dunlap. "Staff not only brings back knowledge and information that will improve city services but it is also an opportunity for us to have a presence in these great organizations."
