Missouri lawmakers will consider a bill that would add marijuana to current law that reduces or eliminates workers’ compensation benefits for those who are found to be under the influence of alcohol or nonprescribed controlled drugs. Workers’ compensation benefits are reduced by 50% when a worker disobeys an employer’s drug-free workplace rule and the “injury was sustained in conjunction” with the use of alcohol or nonprescribed drugs.
