The Washington State House of Representatives passed a bill that would revise the schedule of permanent total disability and temporary total disability benefits.
The House on Wednesday voted 78-18 to pass HB 1788, by Rep. Adison Richards, D-Gig Harbor.
Total disability benefits in Washington are based on injured workers' wages as well as their marital status and how many children they have. The bill would set benefits as follows:
Unmarried with no children — 60% of wages.
Unmarried with one child or married with no children — 65% of wages.
