Cost Containment Firm Sues Medical System for Creating Monopoly in Pittsburgh Area

Premier Comp Solutions, a medical cost-containment company based in Pittsburgh, has filed a lawsuit accusing the largest medical provider in western Pennsylvania of stealing its trade secrets and creating monopolistic conditions in the region. PCS filed the lawsuit on Friday in U.S. District Court against the nonprofit University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, as well as several of UPMC’s for-profit sister companies and York Risk Services Group subsidiary MCMC.
