The U.S. Labor Department on Thursday announced that it awarded $12.7 million to 102 nonprofits throughout the country to pay for educational and training initiatives aimed at improving workplace safety.
Funds from the Susan Harwood Training Grants Program will support training about hazard awareness, avoidance and controls, and inform workers and employers of their rights and responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the department said.
