New York’s highest court reversed a grant of summary judgment in favor of an injured construction worker who slipped and fell while using a makeshift ramp to descend from a building. Case: Valente v. Lend Lease (US) Construction LMB, No. 132 SSM 17, 09/05/2017, published. Facts: Frank Valente slipped and fell on grease that had gotten on to the planks he was using as a makeshift ramp to descend five feet from the top of a building to a scaffold at a construction site.
