Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed a bill that, among other things, raises the minimum age for workers' compensation judges to 35 from 30.
The governor on Friday signed House Bill 128, by Rep. William Lamberth, R-Portland. The state House of Representatives voted 78-11 to pass the bill March 3. The Senate voted 26-5 to pass it March 13.
The bill also allows comp judges to serve four six-year terms instead of three.
HB 128 additionally declares that a comp judge appointed to fill a vacancy for less than a full term is eligible to serve up to an additional four full terms.
