A Miami attorney was forced to shut down his practice for 10 days and pay $1,250 in costs for depositing settlement funds from a tort claim into his bank account even though a workers’ compensation carrier had posted a lien claiming a right to a portion of the money.
Daniel Edgar Tropp was one of 21 attorneys who were disciplined by the Florida Supreme Court in April at the recommendation of the State Bar.
