The West Virginia Industrial Council will meet July 3 to put the finishing touches on a set of regulations written in part to prepare the workers' compensation market to open to private competition.Under the law that replaced the old state workers' compensation fund with BrickStreet Mutual Insurance Co. in 2006, the market is set to open for other carriers on Tuesday.Rules awaiting final approval cover the workers' compensation claims index, Debt Reduction Fund assessments and surcharges, coverage issues, self-insurance, self-administration and third party administrators.The panel ...
