Firefighters rallied at the Connecticut State Capitol and gathered outside the House of Representatives to put pressure on lawmakers, who have avoided discussing a bill that would create a cancer presumption for illnesses such as non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, according to the Connecticut Mirror.
The state Senate passed Senate Bill 593 in March after merging it with a second bill that addressed post-traumatic stress disorder treatment for first responders who witness a death.
