The California Occupational Safety and Health Appeals Board has upheld citations issued to staffing firm Barrett Business Services after a 2011 carbon monoxide leak in an Anaheim warehouse sent eight temporary workers to the hospital.
The state Department of Industrial Relations said neither Barrett Business Services or L&L Foods took action after the workers complained that they were experiencing headaches, nausea and other health issues caused by forklifts operating in an enclosed area with poor ventilation.
