A Swansea resident has pleaded guilty to federal charges of running a long-term, off-the-books payroll scheme and evading workers’ compensation premiums through her temporary employment agencies.
Souleang Kane, 48, pleaded guilty Tuesday to 18 counts of willful failure to collect and pay employment taxes to the Internal Revenue Service, and five counts of mail fraud in connection with evading paying workers’ compensation premiums, prosecutors said.
