The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division is holding a public hearing March 15 on a proposal that it said will clarify its attorney fee rules.
The division on Friday proposed rules including criteria for carriers and self-insured employers to use for determining attorney fees. The rules also include a matrix for calculating a reasonable fee that considers a minimum amount of time devoted to the case and is proportionate to the benefit the worker receives.
The DWC is also revising the wording in several rules in a way it says will clarify the regulations.
