Two camps have emerged in Illinois politics on the subject of workers' compensation reform.
Gov. Bruce Rauner, Republican lawmakers and business groups say the 2011 reforms did not produce all of the savings that were promised and the state needs to do more to cut costs. Labor and claimants' attorneys say injured workers bore the brunt of the last reforms and shouldn't be penalized because insurers pocketed as profits a good amount of the savings produced in the last round of cost cutting.
