Pharmacy benefit managers are cautioning clients about potential dangers of certain sleep medications after the Food and Drug Administration recently issued a warning about the drugs.
“Rare but serious injuries have happened with certain common prescription insomnia medicines because of sleep behaviors, including sleepwalking, sleep driving and engaging in other activities while not fully awake,” the FDA said in a safety announcement. “These complex sleep behaviors have also resulted in deaths.”
