Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has signed into law bills that increase death benefits, expand attorney fees, penalize employers who retaliate against workers for filing claims, and launch a study of hospital costs.
Three of the bills were introduced by state Sen. Karen Mayne, D-West Valley City, who is a leader in workers’ comp legislation at the Capitol despite her membership in the minority party. Herbert on Monday signed into law Mayne’s:
