Judge Says Bureau Owes Employers Millions, Sets March Hearing

By Bill Kidd, Central Bureau ChiefA Cleveland judge will hold a hearing on March 14 to consider how much money – currently estimated at $860 million – the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation owes approximately 270,000 employers that the court says were overcharged for their workers’ compensation coverage.Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Richard McMonagle ruled on Friday that the bureau owed restitution to employers who were excluded from group discount programs between 2001 and 2008.
