Report: MSF Extends Premium Deferral

The Montana State Fund extended premium deferrals through September, according to a report by the Havre Daily News.

The carrier reportedly announced a program in April allowing policyholders impacted by COVID-19 to delay premium payments for work comp coverage. On Tuesday, MSF reportedly announced that it was extending the policy through the end of September.

The Havre Daily News reports that Montana State Fund said it will not cancel policies during this period unless requested to do so by the policyholder. The carrier also said employers that pay people who aren’t working won’t be charged premiums on the wages.

“Although there are few known confirmed COVID-19 cases in Montana, it is expected that they will become more commonplace as the virus spreads,” the carrier says on its website.
