The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services said it received notice of seven fatalities accepted for workers’ compensation benefits in the first three months of 2024, one less than in the same period of 2023.
DCBS reported two deaths apiece in the logging, transportation and waste management sectors in 2024 and another death in the real estate, rental and leasing sector.
The department said of the seven fatalities accepted by insurers during the first quarter, three were for workers who died before 2024.
