OSHA Cites Trailer Manufacturer for Amputation Hazards

An Illinois trailer manufacturer faces nearly $154,000 in fines for seven violations of exposing workers to injury risks from machine and welding hazards, OSHA says. For the second time in two years, federal safety inspectors said Dierzen Sales exposed workers to amputation risks and other serious injuries as they fed parts into an unguarded mechanical press brake at a manufacturing plant in Newark, where the company also is based.
